I am really trying to be a little braver than the mom that only allowed for two mattresses in her two year old twin boys room when we moved here just over a year ago. I am trying to let them have toys and books in their rooms, and as of today they now have their clothes in those black bins in their rooms as well... I am just praying everything doesn't get dumped out as soon as a friend comes over.
Little A was so cute while we were organizing and cleaning up the twins room she went ahead and made each of the boys beds which they just adored!
See mom I finally out up the cardboard you gave me! Now I just need to get proper blinds to cover up my perfected blackout windows ;) maybe in another year? Little d got a bit bigger nightstand so littlest Lo got his hand me down which he was thrilled about. All I can picture when I think of furniture in the twins room is all the ways they will climb on top of it as soon as my back is turned. But they have taken good care of the okay to wake alarm clock...until today when Lo unplugged it! Gah.
THIS GIRL and all her cuteness. She is the #1 reason we made the trek to Annabella this past weekend.
other pics from church yesterday...
^^^^ why doesn't my hair look like this when I simply blow dry it for 6 minutes??!?!^^^
That girl sure does love her american flags! Okay onto Annabella (working our way backwards through the weekend sorry!)
Annabella (mostly so I don't forget) is the place we named little A after. She also has a great great grandma Annabelle and it was Grandpa Phil who has told us so much about Annabella and took Drew and I down there years ago when he was still mentally all there and could tell us stories for days about growing up there and the sheep his dad would shear and the people that lived in this tiny town that his dad built a house in. It was amazing to me (who has not seen hardly any family headstones or graves) to see all these family graves in one place, which I guess is what happens when people live most of their lives in one place? It was so interesting to figure out the ages when people passed away, especially the little children that were scattered around the adult graves and to think about how fleeting life was when the mortality rate for infants and children was so high.
We are so blessed. We also went to play at the playground right outside the church. Since I started working part time (usually just saturdays), Saturdays have not been much of family time for us, since Drew is usually solo with the kids. It was a bittersweet thing then to find out that I would be phased out of that job, because while it was nice to make a little extra money on the side, I am excited for spending more time as a family on Saturdays which I didn't realize till today how much I missed.
The Daniels family home also had a little surprise for us... fresh apples!!! When Drew and I went down all those years ago it was winter so we had no idea there were two apple trees. We collected quite the haul and I am sad to say that most of them will probably be gone within the week! My kids love their apples!
I never got to go out on the boat to go fishing with Gpa Phil but this boat was always a staple in his driveway! It still has carpet on the flooring as does the outside porch area...
Cutest little house! My kids had to fight their way through the bush to the right to go up the front steps for the picture but it was worth all the complaining!
We stopped by at a little drive in to grab lunch on the way down
Blackberry happens to be grandpa phils favorite shake flavor!
everyone got a froyo and a half (the second round was split between kids)
and the nasty fires we watched on the way down and back.... hopefully we get rain soon!
little d likes to read to the littles now, when we can drag him away from diary of a wimpy kid and captain underpants books :)
the twins new favorite picnic spot
A and the twins started soccer this month!
They have all picked up on it pretty well for us not really playing soccer often before the last two weeks.
