it all started off so innocently... we forward faced the boys after some horrible hours of driving the day before
everyone seemed so happy, everything seemed to be going so well....then things took a turn for the worse and by 10am we were busting out cookies....
and then for 35 blessed minutes they were quiet...and asleep. It was short lived.
We made a pit stop in West Virginia for a few hours and played with friends then for a short 45 minutes we got some quiet time...again, short lived. Darn tolls.
Lan busted out of his onesie (as in: complete blowout, could not salvage the outfit!) on the way to Raleigh, and on the way back, Lo did the same (different outfit). We did manage to stop at the same rest stop both ways by coincidence, which was my favorite because it had these amazing seats that EVERY BATHROOM SHOULD HAVE! Unfortunately, I've been in hundreds of restrooms, hundreds, going to the bathroom with a child in my arms (not easy but it is an art and I defy you to find a mom who has never done that before!) and this is only the second seat like this I have ever seen (the other one was at the once upon a child by my house).
So we made it to Brady and Cassie's and little d got a movie night and sleepover at C's place! I love that he got to get a little spoiled.
Continental breakfast every morning at the hotel was a circus... but it was nice to have so many food options for my kids to sample without having to make anything myself!
it should also be noted that from the moment they sit down, you have approximately 10 minutes or less of sit down time with my kids for any given meal. So dinner out with B&C didn't go so well...until we went outside (and of course I always forget their shoes) and then their day. was. made.
My favorite shot of the entire trip:
Sunday naps...
Oh I love that sweet sleeping baby face without a binky!
We honestly spent most of our time in NC just hanging out at our apartment/hotel or Cassie and Brady's.Doing things like wasting a lot of baby wipes to make a "cast" for our make believe boo-boo's. Thank you, Doc McStuffins.
When I asked little a what she wanted to do with Aunt Cass? Shop or Take a nap. So she did both!
I think we spent like $80 on snacks before we left....money well spent. Especially the applesauce pouches.
and this girl went a little wild with her makeup and nails at aunt cass's house!
while the babies chased around their poor cousin Charlotte
We celebrated the 4th with some sparklers, playing dressup in our new clothes and eating yummy food! The traveling and not sleeping well finally caught up with everyone, so a four day trip was the perfect amount of time for our crew to have a good time before melting down the whole way home... ha!
We will miss them dearly, it will be sad to have them not a day drive away but across the country from us, but we are excited for their new adventure!
