I can no longer take my kids to the store without the sounds of CAN I HAVE THIS
to which I respond, I'll take a picture and ask Santa.
I did get to come into A's kinder class and do a watercolor demo with shapes and oil pastels... then the next day I spent about 6 hours learning about throwing on the wheel (and failing spectacularly no less than three times), drawing and making a glass star.the watercolors were still my favorite part
D got pinkeye (on the heels of the twins getting ear infections and A getting strep!) and A got braids
Lan found a flower and A found... she's a little aggressive in the love department
I got some stuff setup for an activity...
We enjoyed a few evening rides to the park with friends
This is what I was working on for a week or so....
and I got a night of self care and Yoga with Sarah and Melissa Hartwig (and a couple dozen other people) and it was lovely and eye opening (and started my little paradigm shift I mentioned a few posts back)
The swag (only about half of it was any good... some things are just meant to have sugar!)
Curled hair with little sis...then went to get it cut by Erika!
SO MUCH BETTER! And less stringy too!
Had a girls only movie night to nutcracker with some neighborhood ladies
braids... and post braid hair
A got to keep some of the flowers from the retreat... and I caught a glimpse of the twins at 6am!! thanks a lot daylight savings (to be fair they all stayed in bed till 7 the first day but that was it!)
The real twinners
messy messy messy... I was trying to figure out the right half of the wall and eventually gave up and took the pics down instead of evening them out.
Cutest school kids!
D started a new part time side gig...and I tried capturing our sunday bests since heaven knows we will never get a good family picture again
Matching for the second week in a row at church <3
making bday cards
Concessa and Spencer came over last Sunday for dinner!
A and I got BANGS (or BANKS as the twins call it)
I painted a bunch of rocks gold that we had collected from the construction around us and cleaned up this summer, and this month we replaced them back to the construction sites. It doesn't rain much so hopefully people saw it before it started raining buckets a few days ago. More on that little art project later, to be sure.
Played real monopoly with little d (with only minimal interference from the twins). I forgot how long that game takes and after 90 minutes I told D he won and we needed to clean up (we were nowhere near finishing!! how did we play this game so much when we were little?!)
Drew got a special delivery from one of his clients, a sampling of products that we will hopefully be utilizing all of in the near future! We didn't get any pics of thanksgiving but spent the morning with Sarah and McKay making crepes and playing games and then late lunch with Uncle Chris and Aunt Sheryl, made a autumn salad and fruit salad (with dip) that we contributed. It was low key day, the only day Drew will have off till Christmas so we enjoyed it with him.
and a few other random things... I made this GATHER sign at a RS activity
these are the flowers from the whole30 event
And Keely made it to a workout with me this month!
I cut wood with a saw to fix a water damaged baseboard
we put up blinds all around the upstairs of the house! Drew and I finished our first puzzle together! (last weekend we had three "date nights" in a row...Thurs was to the temple, Friday was putting the puzzle together and Saturday we stayed in and watched a movie after putting the kids to bed early!)
mama's boy
visit to the new BYU "little target"
Probably my biggest success for the month was to eschew back friday shopping altogether for the first time in probably my whole life. And to instead use that time to deep clean my kitchen and declutter our storage in our basement and pantry. It took all day!!! But I will say it felt so good to feel so accomplished and felt like the ULTIMATE form of self care because NO REGRET was involved.AND as an added bonus, Drew and I have two bins FULL of electronic stuff we have taken with us with every move for OVER TEN YEARS--cords, chargers, etc that I am too scared/not knowledgeable to go through (because heaven forbid I get rid of something we NEED), that I have asked Drew to go through since we moved the first time. He went through it Black Friday and got rid of nearly all of it!!!! HALLELUJAH!! I guess if we didn't need it in the last decade we won't be needing it in the next one ;)
The last of the gold stones... probably no longer since the rain washed it all away this past weekend! Next time I will have to find some sort of waterproof sealant for my rocks.
