Only 25 seconds off a course record for my age group...

Maybe I'll be running this again next year... Not too shabby for being sleep deprived and undertrained at 5 months postpartum.

No cavities for little d!

First trip to the dentist and he did so well!! The counted and cleaned his teeth then gave then some "vitamins". We were on our way out when I forgot something so we went back in only o have him throw up for the first time in his life, poor thing! Must have been the combination of fluoride and apple cider we had afterwards. But they had dunkin donuts and he got a bear ring, no cavities sticker, new toothbrush and tooth paste so he wasn't too phased by the puking :/ the waiting room:
The pediatric dentist, Nicole.
No cavities!

My biggest weakness(es)

If someone told me I had to live without pasta the rest of my life I could do it in a heartbeat. But freshly made bread with no preservatives? Heavens no.
With honey butter and a side of sweet rolls please:
Add in a little cheese
While we are on the subject of delicious things... Chubby toddler and baby hands (!!)
Afternoons with these two outside in the most perfect weather
To top it off, the way these two fall asleep sometimes never ceases to crack me up.

Not having Mr. D around, It's hard to find time to remember to shower. Or eat a real meal, at least not until both kids are in bed and I'm ravenous for anything and everything I can get my hands on. But when I finally take a break from eating and look through the photos I took throughout the day and I find a gem like this, I can't help but be overwhelmed with love and gratitude. This photo was one of about 25 (mostly identical but all with slight bits of finger in the foreground) taken at 8am this morning, after I had gone down to make breakfast. Little d had taken Roscoe and Curious George and tucked them into my bed on my pillow. Gosh he's sweet.
I absolutely love my job. And the weeks that mr d has to spend more time at his makes mine all the more sweeter because of how much little d and I depend on each other when he is away. Kids are pretty amazing little creatures.

First Fenway trip with the four of us

Well he's been toilet trained for three months now so we figured we better make good on our promise to take him to a Red Sox game this year. His choice of wardrobe never dissapoints...
On the way there eating his turkey dinner
Sister was ready too!
Our awesome bleacher seats, in perfect view of the enormous big screen TV for little a!
Er family picture?
That's about as good and blurry less as it gets
Also it was beard night, so mike let us borrow his fake beard
Even the kids tried it out
Even though neither one of them liked it
I stole away my awesome potty trained babe for a potty break and a bathroom selfie
Then we had to get some spicy drink (sprite) and the largest ice cream of our lives ever found in a baseball helmet.
Did I mention he ate that for dinner?
Two peas in a pod
Baby girl loves her daddy so much
So does her brother... Too bad no one ever fights over sitting on my lap!
Our kids relation ship summed up in 1....
2....
3....
Right before we were about to move seats of course sister fell asleep for all of 15 minutes, post feeding.
Fuzzy head and Fenway.
3 generations walking through America's most beloved ballpark
Elevator selfie
Our seats for the second half of the game. It was a little easier to keep the kids interested in the game in the box.
And of course spend quality time with grandpa mike!
We love Fenway!

Ride home in the train packed like sardines...

Kids didn't sleep until 12:30 since the game went into extra innings... It was exhausting but certainly once in a year it's not so bad :)

Still nervous for a 5k even after running the boston marathon

How fitting to be running my first post second baby and post marathon race 5 years from when I first got into running and racing. A lot had happened in 5 years, but I was still crazy nervous about running 3 miles whatttttt?!

The rest of that post talked about gearing up for my first marathon (which didn't happen till much later, since I discovered the far less intimidating half marathon four times before venturing out the full 26.2).

Thankfully I have the best support system ever.
Not too many men can pull that of but man does that husband of mine look good!!
The whole first 3 miles I pushed hard (or so I thought since I forgot my watch, augh!) and was hoping for under 30, but as I rounded the corner and could see I was well under that, I also caught a glimpse of my little turtle power boy waving at me, who I promised could essentially run the last .1 with me... They were situated just a few feet from the "chute" of a half dozen cones and he raced toward me only to immediately slip and fall. He got up, unfazed, and held my hand as we ran into the finish line together. He had the biggest smile on his face and kept talking about "our" race. He even got a Gatorade and wore the race shirt afterwards. I can't wait to race side by side (or behind him..) someday.
It was a fun local race and I got in unofficially (from what i remember glancing at the clock) at 24 mins 21 seconds. Little d has suddenly shown an interest in drawing lately and he drew the final seconds of our race (he sees me, falls, runs to the finish with me) at least three times tonight, this being the latest version of said drawing:
"Daddy and sister in grass" on left, finish line in center, "mommy" on right, and bottom was "me falling down".

Oh. I hope I never forget how wonderful today felt. And I hope every race from here on out ends with me crossing the finish line with one of my babes.
